You can’t go wrong with this small hotel. ![]() Rather than the generic chain hotel that’s overpriced in this area known for tech companies, we prefer to stay at The Zen, which has a more intimate feel and is family owned (I believe). It’s a short drive to Stanford, downtown Palo Alto, and the popular Castro Street in Mountain View. ![]() Management is always friendly and responsive. The Zen is a refurbished motel with easy parking near rooms. The Zen’s rooms are always clean, have bathrobes, mini fridges, and complimentary bottled water. It had hard wood floors, a kitchenette, and a dressing/wash area separated from the sleeping area by a wall with a closet. Our room this past stay was a 2 Queen mini suite. When we visit other cities, we always wish there was a place like The Zen. The Zen is my favorite hotel! We travel to the area several times a year and always choose to stay at The Zen for its cleanliness, hospitality, location, and relaxed atmosphere.
